ISO 50001 - ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
ISO 50001:2011 Energy Management System (EMS) standard was published on June 15, 2011 and updated as ISO 50001:2018 in August 2018, it is an international management system that aims to control the energy consumption of organizations. (EMS) standard is now a necessity for organizations as well as being useful. This standard is a standard that can be clearly seen as a financial return to the business, unlike other ISO standards. Energy prices are increasing due to the decrease in our reserves as the world's non-renewable resources are used. Reducing energy use contributes to reducing costs as well as reducing our carbon footprint and protecting the natural environment.
(EYS) is based on the determination of energy policies by organizations, management of energy consumption within the framework of energy management programs established in line with their goals and objectives, and improvement of the energy management system by evaluating its performance.
The ISO 50001 Energy Management System (EMS) standard can also be established as an integrated system in companies implementing ISO 9001 and/or ISO 14001 standards.
