FSSC 22000 FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM CERTIFICATION
Nowadays, the audits of large gross markets such as Metro, Migros and Carrefour require production and certification in accordance with global food safety standards designed specifically for food manufacturers, such as FSSC 22000.
FSSC 22000, originally named the Foundation of Food Safety Certification, is one of the most important organizations established to ensure sectoral integrity in international food trade. FSSC 22000 is an internationally accepted certification program designed specifically for food manufacturers and used in the audit and certification of food safety management systems of all food manufacturers in the food chain. It is approved by the (GFSI) Global Food Safety Initiative.
The current TS EN ISO 22000:2018 standard includes the requirements of ISO 22002-1/ prerequisite program requirements and HACCP principles. It is the first global food safety standard specifically for the food production sector. FSSC 22000 is valid for all organizations throughout the food chain:

Applies to all organisations along the food chain:
Perishable animal products (e.g. meat, poultry, eggs, dairy and fish products)
Perishable plant products (fresh fruit and fresh fruit juices, canned fruit, fresh vegetables, canned vegetables).
Products with a long shelf life at ambient temperature (i.e. canned goods, biscuits, snacks, oil, drinking water, beverages, pasta, flour, sugar, salt)
(Bio)chemical production (vitamin, mineral additives and bio-culture) but excluding technical and technological assistance.
Food packaging production (direct or indirect contact with food).
Production of food and feed for animals (aims to ensure the safe production of animals, food and feed by collecting good practices for the production and distribution of feed and additives).
